Laid Bird and I arrived at Kolonihaven to find most of the pack drinking beer on a pleasant evening. Having spammed the hash with questions we were surprised no one threw rotten fruit. Instead we were introduced to the pack while we waited for Bone Us to arrive.
The pack set off through the allotments, passing a small group practicing archery: they didnâ??t appear happy to see us. The trail led us a bank to a main road, we thought, only to find ourselves off-trail proving again that hashers canâ??t think. Re-joining the real trail we continued towards abandoned railway lines and a funky party hiding a check-point. After some confusion we were on-on to the Concert Hall and ARoS, offering the visitors a chance to see some of the sights of Ã?rhus and get a bit of a guided tour. One check later and we headed down a lovely small street of well-kept old buildings.
The trail led us wandering through neighbourhoods towards a drinkstop at Apple Jack and Mother Gooseâ??s place which we soon learnt was a mini hash ghetto. Arrack was served; itâ??s an acquired taste but who says no to free booze on trail? Off we went again to a check at a junction that left us slightly confused: Apple Jack pointing out for Laid Bird the way to the Old Town. The only problem being Laid Bird was clueless as to where we were. I was just clueless. The train continued along a canal to a Swim/Sing stop. The pack chose to sing not swim with that numpty Soaked Arse leading a rendition of Father Abraham that those of us on the steps above the canal probably thought was a bad choice of song (you get quite dizzy after the first couple of verses). The run to the On Inn was pretty uneventful, some of us got nailed by a fish hook, but as far as I know everyone made it back.
Down-downs were duly assigned for misdemeanours on trail. Mother Goose tried to run the circle and was punished. Happy Hour was called in for an attack on Bone Us (which he repeated in the circle). Right-hanging and Spicy were called in for using the T-word. Pushup for not running (she was ensconced in a comfy chair when the pack got to the On Inn). Laid Bird had been using a cell phone and was punished. Susp. Long Time No See was abused for being an optimist. Sweaty Balls for double hashing, Massive Attack and Streaky for stand-up comedy in the circle. Bone Us was a latecomer. It was a great evening: nice trail and On Inn with a really friendly pack. Thank you for hosting us!
